Friday Favourite #8 : Soap and Glory Sugar Crush

Todays favourite was entirely caused buy my propensity to read blogs.

Numerous people had mentioned in passing that the scent of this line of products was incredible. I never really took any notice. Until one day when i was casually wandering through Boots (as you do) and spotted there was a 3 for 2 on just as i was looking for a new shower gel.

I actually picked up the body buttercream first as I wanted to smell the stuff before i committed to anything. one lung full of the gorgeousness that was contained in the tub and i was hooked. I got the shower gel and 2 of the body buttercreams.

Out of the citrus family lime is definitely my favourite, and when it comes to comforting smells cake batter is one that makes me happy. Thankfully this smells EXACTLY like lime cake batter!! Honestly if they were to make this into a fragrance i'd spray it on everything I own. (Dear soap and glory, If your reading this please please please bring out at least a body mist in this!!!)

But the thing about this stuff is that it more than just a pretty scent. The body wash lathers nicely and isnt drying and the body butter is ridiculously moisturizing, come to think of it this might be the reason I felt slightly un-moisturized by the Nivea body conditioner.......

Anyhoo have you smelt the wondorousness that is the sugar crush line yet?

TAG: I Heart Fall/Autumn

I had been thinking about doing a few tag style posts on here as i find it interesting to see the differences in peoples answers. Then i saw that Clare from makeroomforcupcake.blogspot.co.uk/ had done this one and i was inspired.

Now some of these things have been mentioned before on here as I'm not shy about proclaiming my love for this season but i thought it'd be nice to bring them all together.

1 Favourite Fall lip product?

I've got 2 for this as if i don't have one on i definitely have the other.

Mac Cunning. This was from the Fabulous Felines collection from a while back, Its only recently i rediscovered it, it looks scary in the tube but its a nice deep berry wine colour when applied.

And the other is Blistex Medplus lip balm. I don't think I'd make it through the bitter Scottish winter without this. I forgot to put it in my bag the other day and i swear my lips felt like they were about to explode by the time i walked home from work.

2 Favourite Fall Nail Polish?

I gave my thought on this one HERE

But it has to be German-icure by OPI

3 Favourite Starbucks Fall Drink?

I did a whole post about my love for Pumpkin Spice Latte HERE
LOVES IT!!

I did try a Salted Caramel Mocha the other day as well, most enjoyable.

(The RED CUPS are coming!!!!!!)

4 Favourite Fall Candle?

Another of the things that I've already waxed (sorry) lyrical about is my beloved Marshmallow Fireside from Slatkin/White Barn/Bath and Bodyworks. see that post HERE

My little one has all gone but I'm ordering the giant one from eBay the minute i wake up on payday. It's that good!

5 Favourite Fall Scarf or accessory?

Hedgehog Scarf from Primark.

I live in Scotland its pretty chilly round here so full on winter scarves are already being sported by many.

6 Haunted House, Haunted Hay Ride, or Haunted Corn Maze?

We don't really have the corn maze or Hay rides in the UK but i do LOVE a good Haunted House. If I'm totally honest i even love rubbish fairground haunted house. I find them freaking hilarious!!

7 Favourite Halloween Movie?

Everyone seems to be choosing Hocus Pocus for this one.

I don't have a favourite for this so I'll tell my Hocus Pocus story.

Hocus Pocus frightened me for a long time, yes really.

If i saw it was about to come on TV I'd have to change the channel immediately, and this was until quite recently.

Thing is, when i was little i watched a DVD of this movie and i don't know how this happened but in my head i had a completely warped version of them raising billy from his grave. It freaked me right out.

A few months ago i forced myself to watch it, the scene in my head didn't exist. I felt silly!

8 Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?

I don't know if it would be classified as 'Halloween Candy' but at the moment my favourite sweet treat is gingerbread. Nom nom nom!!

9 What are you dressing up as for Halloween?!

Well this year I'm going to a Onesie Party and I'm thinking of getting a new onesie for the occasion.

But my Favourite thing to dress up as is Wednesday Addams.

10 What is your Favourite thing about Fall?

It has to be crunchy leaves and the smell of a clear autumn evening, perfection :-)

I tag everyone that reads this.

Saturday

Marshmallow Fireside

In my Most Wonderful Time of the Year post i briefly mentioned my insane jealousy of Americans and their easy access to Bath and Bodyworks and all the amazing sounding candles that are so hard to get a hold of here.

Long story short i hit eBay and a wee while later i'd ordered my first B&BW candle.

I give you Marshmallow Fireside:

I opted for a mini one as candle scents can be so subjective, and i'm particularly picky when it comes to these things. Didn't quite think it'd be this small though....kind of like a large tea light.

I cant even begin to explain how much i love this scent, it sweet but almost slightly masculine with the woody notes. It reminds me of being a kid and, well, toasting marshmallows on a fire (funny that!). I currently live in a flat in a city so opportunities to actually do this for real don't happen very often.

In short it smells incredible.

The minute i opened the package i knew that i want NEED a giant one.

Now my only problem is the price of getting on of the big ones shipped to me. eBay is uber pricey and the glimmer of hope that was bath and bodyshop doesn't have any left.

Don't suppose any American readers are feeling generous.......? ;-)

Whats your favourite candle scent?

Speaking of readers i'd like to say Hello and Welcome to my new followers, it means a lot to me that you've taken the time to follow. It also makes me feel less like i'm insanely talking to myself. I look forward to getting to know you all,x

The most wonderful time of the year...

Oh how i love Autumn....

Let me count the ways....

1. Super cosy socks

I got these lovelies from trusty old Primark (2 pairs for £2!). They are ridiculously soft and soooo cosy. I hate waring shoes in the flat but when the weather turns the wooden floors really are to chilly to go without so cosy socks are lovely. The best thing about cosy socks is when you get in from a really cold walk, perhaps you've stepped in a puddle, and you get home and put on your fluffy socks.

Have I over thought this? Probably.

P.S Also extremely good for sliding on the floor pretending your a ninja :-)

2. Tea

Now I'm a consummate coffee drinker, I mean, seriously, I should just organise some kind of IV delivery system, but come Autumn I'm a cosy evening cuppa tea drinker.
My favourite is honey, chamomile and vanilla from Twinings.

(The Skeleton ginger bread man was from Sainsburys and was incredibly good)

The herbal stuff isn't everyones cup of tea (boom boom) but this is soothing and sweet enough to drink without adding 10 tonnes of sugar. Perfect for when the nights are drawing in.

3. Autumn Scents

This is the time of year i go crazy for home fragrance.
And i know its not just me that this happens to.
I'm pretty sure the wee lady over at the Yankee candle kiosk is paid year round from the profits between now and Christmas.

I picked up these wax tarts (they have a special burner thing which they melt in). I melted another sugared apple tart i had last night, i had my cosy socks on and a cup of tea. It was raining outside but I was in cosy heaven watching QI :-)

For when these aren't burning I picked up a lovely hand wash from bath and bodyshop.

It smells incredible, sweet and warm. If, like me, cinnamon gives you a sore head this is your perfect autumn scent.

I'm always devastated that we don't have easy access to Bath and Body works stuff here, but the little range on that site soothes me slightly. I just wish they didn't run out of stock on everything I want so quickly.

What do you love about Autumn?
Do you Americans find it amusing that we call it Autumn?
Or are you just blocking the whole thing out waiting for summer again?
