Haulage of ridiculous amounts of polish...

This post was entirely brought about by the stars aligning.

For the past 2 weeks I've had access to a car to head to out of town shopping centers (well tha'ts more a happy by product of having the car) then  I won a gift voucher at work and Sallys had a VAT free day and obviously Boots is having its glorious 3 for 2.

Sunday

So I went shopping....

The good thing about having a job in sales, especially where i work, is that although there can be some really stressful times there can also be great rewards. As was shown by my lack of blogging in December, work was a busy busy time for me and after a long long looooong January i finally have my reward.

Hello bumper pay cheque!

So i did the usual and paid some bills, got myself some food blah blah blah...

I went shopping for some good stuff :-)

First off i took my monthly stroll around the wonderous haven that is Boots.....

I picked up:
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Prickly Pear- You can never have to much pale purple polish!
17 Supreme Shine Polish in Wave- I have a thing about blueish-green just now.
Then there was a Rimmel 3for2, it would've been rude to not partake.
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara- word to the wise the brown and the black versions of this have exactly the same packaging, it was the girl at the till that saved me from buying the wrong one!
Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl- I've heard good things about this.
And last but not least Rimmel Apocalips in Galaxy- Well I had to jump on that bandwagon eventually!

Then was my wander around Debenhams.

I had to go here to pick up the prize for the giveaway but got myself a couple of treats as well...

Diesel Fuel for Life Unlimited- Smells so so good
and
Urban Decay Ammo Palette- It was on a blinder of a deal for 13 quid, i couldn't really say no!

I got this super cute ring in Accessorize for £8 i <3 it...

Im supposed to be on a bit of  clothes buying ban until i complete my self imposed 'Project Bikini' target but Primark have brought out thier version of the much fabled Disco Pants, I tried them on for a laugh, but ended up having to buy a pair.

Now I'm not 18 and i'm not size 8 but i did manage to wear them to the pub last night without dying of embarrassment  i might even do an ootd with them..
And the grey jersey top is for TKMaxx from a company called Zenada Outfitters, whenever i see something from this brand i buy it, the quality is just incredible, so soft, so comfortable and there must be something in the way its cut because everything buy them is so very flattering.

Last but not least the blue dotted bag, i bought from Primark mainly because it was majorly snowing when i was out and paper bags do not fair well in snow, but i thought it'd make a cute beach bag for my holibags :-)

Hows your weekend going, grab any bargains?

Be sure to let me know in the comments below,x

Whats in my Bag...

The whole whats in my bag thing is my favourite thing to ever come out of the interweb. Whether its a You Tube video i just love knowing what folk carry around on a day to day basis.

Now don't go looking at me like i'm a weirdo i know i'm not alone in this. I mean your here reading this ;-)

My favourtite ones to read are the real ones, not the immaculately manicured I've just bought all this stuff today and put it in my shiny new bags, but more the its been a while, I've tipped it over, and this is what i have kind.

That's what this is. Obviously I've spread it out so you can see but this is what was in my bag this morning.

So:

The bag itself is from Primark its roomy enough for all my junk, is nicely structured so it looks smart, and has a nice retro feel.

The brown Umbrella is a 'Little Brown Umbrella' from Macys that i picked up in New York a few years ago. It has a button for making it go up so it is really handy for sudden showers.

Purses; Penelope Pineapple and Mr Panda. I use one for cash and one for cards.

Cuticura Anti-bacterial gel. I picked this up because i'm going to become a proper commuter again and buses are icky (technical term there!) I got this one because it proclaimed to smell nice, it doesn't, again i find myself jealous of people with Bath and Bodyworks near them.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer folding hairbrush. Tissues from Primark.

Plane ticket from going to Birmingham last week. Bus ticket for getting to the new job this week (Scared!)

Fingerless gloves, not pretty but make using my phone easier when its cold.

Notebook and Watermelon pen. I've had the pen a LOOONNG time and it still smells of watermelon :-)

My Blackberry, the marmite of the mobile phone world. I love mine, but i do have a Sony Xperia S as well (used to take the pics on here).

Bunch of sweets, again from the trip to Birmingham.

Random receipts and Boots vouchers

Garnier Intensive 7 days hand cream (meh!)

I don't carry much makeup but i do carry lip stuff. In the mix here are:

Revlon Just bitten Kissable balm stain in Honey
Accessorize in Infatuated
Revlon Lip butter in Candly Apple
Revlon Colorburst in Blush
Blistex Medplus for lips

I'm thinking of getting a makeup bag since i'll be heading out straight from work more so maybe that will one day be a post.

Whats in your bag?

Monday

Primark Polish...

Now imagine the scene... i was having my usual payday stroll around Primark. I was quite happily wandering around picking up random things (lilac jeans anyone?) and merrily throwing them in the giant basket that always ends up dragging along the floor when all of a sudden my spidey senses were on edge, there was polish nearby, and i had to rescue it from the 7th circle of hell that is the Primark on Argyle street.

The idea of Primark stocking polish is not foreign to me. I have seen those little sets in the makeup bit but there was nothing there that excited me. This stand was new, in my local anyway, it was for the Angelica range.

Priced at £2.50 the stand had obviously seen quite a bit of action before i got there (9.30am!)
I picked up 2. I'd set out that morning thinking of picking up Maybelline 'ceramic blue' but then i set eyes on 'skylar' the absolute perfect pale blue.

I'd also had my eye on China Glaze 'Fairy Dust' so when i saw 'Magnetic' my wallet took a sigh of relief. Tiny glitters in a clear base, perfect.

the resulting love child of these 2 looks like this:

Pale colours can be quite streaky, but 'skylar' was perfectly opaque in 2 coats and 'magnetic' gave just the right amount of sparkle.

I have to say I'm really quite impressed with these so far, its only been 1 day but i have no chipping so far, which for polish this cheap and the treatment i give my nails is quite an accomplishment.
I have to say I'll definitely be back for more. There were some Neons there that were absolutely screaming SUMMER. Lets just hope mother nature obliges bonny Scotland with another heatwave this year.

Available at Primark in the UK and Penneys in Ireland

Have you tried anything from this range?
I'd love to see swatches of other colours!

In other news:

*I bought the mirrored fridge - and now I've stopped eating so much ice cream.

but luckily....

*It Jubilee weekend in the UK and I've had the weekend off to eat a bucket load of cake(handily not kept behind a full length mirror) and drank a gallon of tea :-)

*I may have purchased the Rebel polish from MAC...stay tuned!
